A total of 20 Kanni Adu does were diagnosed as infertile with non exhibiting of oestrus even after six months of kidding, with an incidence rate of 18.2 percent amongst the herd. Non pregnant status of these animals was confirmed by ultrasonagraphy and animals were dewormed and supplemented with mineral mixture. The does were divided into two groups (i) Group I (n=8): Control group without treatment and Group II (n=12): Treated with Clomiphene citrate (CC) (150 mg, P.O) daily for five consecutive days. The onset of oestrus was confirmed by expression of oestrus symptoms and allowed for mating. All the twelve does (100 percent) in treatment group exhibited oestrus signs within 96–120 hours after the end of treatment, while only two (25.0 percent) in control group showed oestrus signs. In treatment group, ten does (83.3%) conceived in the induced oestrus and the remaining two animals conceived in subsequent oestrus. The conception rate in Group I was only 25.0 percent. It is concluded that administration of Clomiphene citrate induced fertile ovulatory oestrus in infertile goats.
