Abstract

The study was conducted to evaluate the clinical and sonographic findings for diagnosis and management of ocular affections in dogs. Total 37 dogs were presented with complaints of different types of ocular affections. The study revealed the incidence of ocular affections was cataract (22%), corneal opacity (19%), cherry eye (13%), trauma (8%) and proptosis (8%). The incidence of each affection viz. descemetocele, traumatic lens expulsion and pigmentary keratopathy was 5 percent whereas for glaucoma, anterior uveitis, dermoid, corneal ulcer and prolapse of iris was three percent for each affection. The reported cases were diagnosed and treated medically or surgically or with medico-surgical interventions as required.
