The study evaluates the efficacy of parenteral administration of different antimicrobial agents for treatment of mastitis in buffaloes. A total of 42 buffaloes, diagnosed with mastitis were randomly divided into three groups i.e. group-1, 2 and 3. In group 1 (n=14), Amoxycillin + Cloxacillin, in group 2 (n=14), Cefoperazone + Sulbactam and in group 3 (n=14), Cefquinome was administered for 4–7 days, respectively. Other supportive treatments given to all groups included injection Meloxicam, Chlorpheniramine maleate and Vitamin Bv B6 and B12 for 4–7 days. The clinical efficacy was assessed by gradual clinical improvements in term of swelling, pain, consistency of affected quarter/s of udder and teats, visual observation of milk, its characteristics and pH of milk. The results indicated that recovery rate from mastitis in buffaloes after four and seven days of therapies were 42.85% (6/14), 57.14% (8/14), 71.42% (10/14) and 71.42% (10/14), 85.70% (12/14) and 92.85% (13/14), respectively, in Amoxicillin + Cloxacillin, Cefoperazone + Sulbactam and Cefquinome treated groups of animals.
