Scrotal urethrostomy for management of urolithiasis - A report of two male dogs

Two male dogs were presented with complaint of anuria for two days in one dog and another with stranguria since a week. Clinical observation revealed partial paraphimosis and swollen penis in one dog. Radiographs revealed presence of urinary calculi in bladder and urethra. Hematobiochemical values revealed azotemia and higher total leucocyte count in one dog which was stabilized. Both dogs were surgically managed by performing cystotomy followed by scrotal urethrostomy and Foley's catheter was placed. With appropriate post-operative care, both dogs had an uneventful recovery.
