Abstract

A buck was presented with history of sudden anorexia and reduced activity. Clinical examination revealed pale conjunctival mucous membrane, heart rate of 140 beats/min, respiratory rate of 34/min and rectal temperature of 102°F. Abdominal palpation revealed space occupying mass and pain to the animal. Ultrasonography examination revealed a larger hyperechoic nodular area (26-28 mm) observed on the lateral aspect of liver. The animal was suspected for Cysticercus pisiformis and responded well to specific and symptomatic therapy.
