Therapeutic management of snake envenomation in a dog

A dog was presented with history of frothy salivation, dull, depressed and bloody diarrhea with recumbent position. Dog was diagnosed with snake bite based on history and physical examination. The haematological parameters showed reduced values of hemoglobin, packed cell volume and increased total leukocyte count. The biochemical values showed elevated levels of Alanine Aminotransferase and creatinine. The successful treatment was undertaken with Anti-snake venom, Dextrose, Dexamethasone phosphate, Normal saline, Tetanus toxoid and Broad-spectrum antibiotic.
