Abstract

Naturally occurring cases of canine trypanosomosis, caused by T.evansi, were evaluated for hepatic, cardiac, thyroid and adrenal functions to understand the disease pathogenesis in advanced cases for undertaking rational therapy. The study revealed varying degree of hepatic, thyroid, adrenal and cardiac dysfunctions in naturally occurring cases of trypanosomosis in dogs. It seems that supportive management of these, as case may be, may enhance cure rate in field conditions.
