Pathological observations on Congenital Goitre in Sirohi Kids in West Bengal Reared in Farm Condition

Pathological findings were described in both live as well as still born kids affected with goitre, born to Sirohi does in State Livestock Farm, Kalyani, Nadia, W.B. The observations involved two male kids, one still born and another one live male kid with congenital goitre. Grossly the thyroid glands were visible and palpable in both the kids. The live goitrous male kid died within one and half hour after birth. Histopathologically hyperplastic goitre was diagnosed in still born male kid and colloid goitre was diagnosed in live goitre male kid.
