Abstract

Application of ultrasonography for studying reproductive functions and pregnancy diagnosis in veterinary science is a recent development. A real-time ultrasonic scanning of uterus appears to offer an accurate, rapid, safe and practical means for early pregnancy diagnosis. The main purpose of early pregnancy diagnosis is to detect open (non-pregnant) cows as early as possible, so they can be rebred after suitable treatment. Instead of early pregnancy diagnosis various infertility conditions like luteal as well as follicular cyst and endometritis can also accurately diagnosed with ultrasonography.
