Organization, indexing, and retrieval of images and related information: three designs

Briefly describes with screen-shots the design for indexing and retrieval of images and related information from three different types of repositories using Greenstone Digital Library software (GSDL). The image collections reported in this paper are of the following kind: MRI (Magnetic Resonance Images), X-ray, sonogram images of brain tumours of hospital patients; photos relating to Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, without legends, captions or text in the picture; and scanned pictures of individuals (saints, seers, and scholars) embedded in the related life sketch text records.
