Abstract

Continuing on the considerations of socio-cultural aspects of the concept and expressions of time begun in the previous installment in this series, this paper briefly examines expressions of time in life course. Examples are drawn from a wide range of life activities ranging from time in proverbs, the concept of past, present and future, differences among business communities/cultures, manipulation of time in school time-tables and calendars to secure uniformity for all children but resulting in disadvantages to emigrants and marginalized communities in some countries.
