Cybercrime came as a byproduct of computer and internet technology. With the invention of World Wide Web (www) cybercrime became widespread and now more advances in virtual world (Web 2.0) has multiplied the challenges geometrically. This type of crime is mostly committed by the young tech savvy's either due to unawareness of their criminal conduct or enthusiasm of doing something different. In this study growth pattern of various cybercrimes is discussed along with the cybercrimes committed against women in India. The study shows how cybercrimes of different types have increased tremendously in India. The study highlights provisions in the Law and awareness measures that need to be taken at community level about such laws to act as a deterrent.
