Transfer of information literacy skills to Pre-service teachers: an empirical study

Libraries are developing different training programmes to make the students information literate. These training programs are based on the assumption that whatever is taught in the training programme will automatically be transferred to the students. Studies done on the information literacy skills transfer have found that this is not always the case. The paper reports a study carkried out to assess the transfer of information literacy skills among Pre-service teachers. Different factors responsible for transfer were identified and a model of transfer was developed.
