Libraries of the future will have to deal with both print and digital media. Intensive application of Information Technology (IT) for performing library functions and management is therefore imperative. Such technology driven operations would bring radical changes in library services. Technology adoption is, however, not a smooth process. For the successful implementation of IT in libraries, it is important to understand the peculiar features of technology development and propagation in real life. A study of various impacts and strategies for internalisation of IT products by libraries is the focus of this paper.
