Information and Knowledge Organization is a core area of information science and plays a critical role in making accessible the vast amounts of information available in conventional and, increasingly, digital sources. The new information technologies are creating a new social context and library and information science curricula are changing. These changes and challenges have called for a change in the approach to Knowledge Organization Curriculum. The paper is a case study of Knowledge and Information Organization course offered at the School of Information Science Policy, University at Albany, SUNY, New York and presents author's experience of designing and teaching the course.
