Abstract

Mud and Debris flows are fast geological disasters that can lead to significant loss of life and wealth. In recent years, numerous methods for controlling debris flow disasters have been developed, with monitoring and prior warning systems being the maximum efficient and cost-efficient approach. This study analyzes the monitoring elements, like material sources, water sources, and the characteristics of debris flows, and compares current monitoring technologies and methods. This analysis helps in selecting appropriate monitoring techniques for preventing and managing real geological disasters, thereby avoiding resource waste.
