Generations of researchers have been inspired by Dr. Hawking's work. His doctoral thesis "Properties of Expanding Universes" was sought for years by researchers and when it was made Open Access due to the enthusiasm of people who rushed to read his thesis that the university's open access repositoryheld the university site crashed. Hawking became very popular through his classic work 'A Brief History of Time: From the Big Bang to Black Holes'. It was aimed at helping people who are not having strong scientific background to understand key concepts of physics and human existence. The book discusses the origins of the universe and its future. Hawking has also authored several works of popular science. Most of them discuss his own theories and also cosmology.
