Information is presently a strategic resource. Information resources are rapidly increasing. The terms Information Source, Information Resource and Library Resource actually are not interchangeable. But there are instances of information source becoming information resource and library resources; information resource. Information resource is the collection of information relevant to a specific organization or community; collected, organized, customized and managed to enable the members to acquire, share and use the information to further extend it or apply it for the benefit of the society. Information Resource sharing does not mean mere mutual sharing of information; but it is the utilization of information resources of one organization for generating services of another. Library Resources may include other resources, besides information, like staff and equipment. The users also need to be made aware of large extent of information resources available, their growing complexities, tools and mechanism for accessing information. Professional indexing of the information sources as well as resources is crucial in this context. A short discussion in this connection is included in the volume.
