Prof. Pauline Atherton Cochrane has had a long fruitful academic association with S R Ranganthan. She has edited some of the papers of Ranganathan for FID and other organizations. She is one who has closely watched the research and development related to Colon Classification. The editors of this memorial volume were continually in touch with Prof. Cochrane and her thoughts and suggestions have helped to make this volume a collector's item. In the short note that follows Prof. Cochrane remembers Ranganathan as a teacher.
