Paper looks back on criticism raised in 1957 by S.R. Ranganathan against the then emerging Indian National bibliography. His arguments against Roman transliteration of bibliographic records of all Indian languages and the organizational structure are today proved to be right. Advancement in IT has revolutionised Indian language technologies with the advent of Unicode and Iris dreams of natural language processing have at last been realized. Nevertheless the continuing presence of Roman diacritical text in printed and online versions of INB puzzles knowledge seekers in the subcontinent.
