Abstract

Availability and use of information are at the heart of economic activity in all fields of development as well as for the governments that regulate them. In the changing world scenario traditional media like books have almost become irrelevant for various reasons. The resources are available and accessible through varied media including digital, virtual etc. The cardinal principles of Library Science formulated by Ranganathan stands highly relevant in the current scenario where along with books numerous other media and methods are also used for information management, which this paper attempts to discuss.
