Abstract

Presents the features of the present productive key technology, the Internet of Things (IoT) and examines the areas of agriculture to which IoT can be applied. IoT is a network of co-ordinated devices that can pass on data effectively unescorted by human participation. As enhancement in technologies had brought appreciable transformations in the farming sector boosting cultivation in the past, IoT can also applied in agriculture by deploying countless sensing technologies to remodel the agribusiness industry; to enable agriculturists to acquire skills, information, and knowledge about modern farming technology; and to accomplish smart farming by taking possession of vital information by farmers. The paper discusses the advantages of IoT in agriculture, crop production, and its other applications. Stresses the need for networking with the sensors, machines, and also the use of robots in agricultural and farming sector.
