Marketing of products in industries is very much essential to increase sale and consequently to gain the profit. Marketing is an essential component of any organizational business plan including library and information centers and acts as a mechanism to satisfy its customers. Effective use of various marketing tools and techniques can considerably enhance the effectiveness in promoting library services and products. The paper discusses the need for marketing approaches in academic libraries with citing some methods adopted by the Learning Resource Centre at JK Lakshmipat University in Jaipur.
