Abstract

The worldx’s population is estimated to reach 9.2 billion in next 30 years, which will double the need for food. This challenge needs to be managed with the limitations of declining arable land area, disastrous pests, irregular and extreme weather patterns as well as pandemic diseases like COVD-19, which reduces the capability of human resource. Failure to overcome these challenges will result in widespread famine leading to social and political instability. Application of Agricultural Informatics like GIS, remote sensing, precision farming etc is effective tools to fight the challenges and to increase food production
