Colleges and higher education institutions today greatly depend on the strength of e- resources and ICT infrastructure for providing efficient information services to the academic community. Colleges in developing countries are facing numerous challenges to establish required ICT facilities in their libraries and to provide services using E-resources. The study gives the present situation of government aided private colleges in India. It evaluates the strength and weakness of e-resource development in arts and science colleges of a selected region run by different corporate management groups. Lack of sufficient fund, inadequate staff, needs for the training and updating of ICT and other professional skills, etc. are the live issues which need to be addressed. Some suggestions are also given to improve the situation.
