Static pile load testing is cumbersome to conduct on large diameter marine piles due to difficulty in set up arrangements and limitations on maximum applied load. Dynamic load test monitoring of such piles facilitates quick and easy measurement of pile capacity and set up factors. Set up factor determination along with dynamic testing of working piles can be further utilized to assess long term capacity of working piles. This paper presents a case history of static and dynamic load testing conducted on driven steel piles of an LNG jetty.
