Abstract

This paper shows astudy of Analytical methods used to determine squeezing pressure occurring in tunnels in weak rock and under high overburden height. 4 Approaches discussed in this paper are compared with the Chhibro-Khodri Tunnel sites measured squeezing pressure (which is a stress based comparison) and the fifth approach is compared with Orizume Tunnel in Tohoku region of Japan (Which is a strain based comparison). The comparison helped find out a conservative method which could be used to predict squeezing pressure.
