The Oued Seybouse drains one of the main watersheds of eastern Algeria view the importance of its water resources and strong anthropization. The watercourse and these effluents receive the domestic and industrial wastewater from the wilayas as well as the effluents from the surrounding agricultural lands. the present study was carried out to investigate the impact of industrial effluent discharges on the water quality of oude Seybouse, annaba, Algeria. In order to evaluate the impact of the effluents from the Edough Dairy on the physicochemical quality of the waters of Oued Seybouse, various parameters (COD, BOD5, Cl, HCO3, electrical Conductivity and salinity) were measured in five sites taken on 23/01/2015.
The results of characterization of the five sampling points chosen show that, for the majority of the analyzed parameters, water pollution is obvious and the Algerian standard of industrial discharge and natural waters is exceeded. The average values found in COD and BOD5 suggest that the pollutant load is essentially organic. The values of N2 always increase in the direction of the water flow of the Oued so the concentrations of the parameters are diminished as and as they are moved away from the mouth due to the dilution (mixing of the waste waters with those Oued) and flow in the Oued seybouse.
