Abstract

To evaluate the influence of aloe plus–a plant preparation - on some antioxidant indices in turkey, it was given to 6-week-old female turkeys of medium-heavy, BUT-9 type, in drinking water. Administration of Aloes plus (0.35 ml/kg bw/day) caused a significant increase in the activity of all analyzed enzymes in erythrocytes superoxide dismutase. It was correlated with an increase of Cu level and total antioxidant potential with its components in plasma. It is concluded that Aloes plus increased antioxidant indices in the blood of turkey hens.
