Abstract

Bandalamottu Pb deposit occurs in the Cumbum Formation of the Cuddapah Super Group. The mineralization manifested by galena, pyrite and sphalerite shows strong lithological control. Presence of sulfides as disseminations, along the intergranular spaces, bedding planes and microstylolites indicate syngenetic to diagenetic nature of the mineralization whereas veinlets, stringers, lenses, breccia and vug fillings reflect epigenetic mode The brecciation and folding constitute the physical controls and structural avenues for the migration and precipitation of ore solution. The mode of occurrence, pattern of mineralization and its disposition suggest that Bandalamottu Pb deposit is polygenetic in nature.
