Abstract

Many basement Pre-Himalayan granitoids are exposed in the Chhota Shigri area. Geochemical studies have been carried out on the different types of granitoids occurring in the Chhota Shigri area. Geochemically, the studied granites are medium to high-potassic with cal-alkaline affinity. The affinity to a peraluminous nature with high content of SiO2, K2O/Na2O ratio, normative corundum, shows that the studied granites are of S-type granite. The granites have fractionated nature of REE and minor negative Eu anomalies. The various types of granite and gneiss rocks present in a nearly basement indicate the similar magmatic origin.
