An outbreak of Foot and Mouth Disease was investigated in a herd of 500 cows in district Jabalpur Madhya Pradesh in month of Feb 2012. History, clinical signs and postmortem findings of the disease being suggestive of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD). Out of these a total of 210 adult cows were found affected. The affected animals were treated with antibiotics, NSAID and antihistaminic. The wound management was done by using topical application of Neem + turmeric ointment and allopathic ointments available commercially. Instead of commercially available allopathic ointments, the results were positive and most effective in Neem + turmeric ointment combination for the healing of vesicular eruption in FMD.
