The present study was conducted to know the effect of strategic nutrient supplementation on blood mineral profile of anoestrus buffaloes in Jabalpur District. Blood samples were collected (before and after supplementation study) from 20 lactating anoestrus buffaloes which were selected randomly. These animals were divided into two groups (n=10) as group I (Control or farmers practice) and group II (Supplemented/Treatment Group). Group I and II was again divided into two subgroups i.e. subgroup CA and TA (post calving period up to 5 months) and subgroup CB and TB (post calving period more than 5 months). Strategic nutrient supplementation (SNS) was evolved on the basis of nutrient deficiencies in anoestrus buffaloes. Anoestrus lactating buffaloes of group II were supplemented @ 1 kg SNS/day for 60 days to see the effects on their blood mineral profile. Average % change in Ca, P, Fe, Zn, Cu, Mn and Co in subgroup CA was 0.67%, 1.65%, -2.05%, -4.62%, 8.19%, 4.40% and -15.04%, resp. and in subgroup CB was 0.83%, 2.33%, -2.81%, 3.46%, 8.35%, -2.19% and -2.74%, resp. Avg. % change in Ca, P, Fe, Zn, Cu, Mn and Co in subgroup TA was 16.57%, 62.60%, 6.30%, 119.55%, 165.86%, 12.85% and 86.40%, resp. Whereas, in subgroup TB was 22.85%, 51.14%, 5.07%, 135.44%, 169.64%, 27.13% and 70.41%, resp. Results revealed that Blood mineral concentration for Ca, Fe and Mn were found above, whereas P, Cu, Zn and Co concentration was found below the respective critical levels. After suppl. significant (P<0.05) increase in Hb, glucose and total protein was observed in subgroups TA and TB. There was non significant (P>0.05) change was observed for Ca, P, Fe, Zn, Cu, Mn and Co levels in subgroup CA and CB. But a significant (P<0.05) increase was observed in all plasma minerals concentration of supplemented group (TA and TB) except Fe.
