The development of diesel engines has been accelerated to boost their performance and reduce their pollutant levels in conformity with the current stringent emission regulations. In order to determine the effects on combustion, performance, and emission behaviour in a diesel engine, a homogeneous hexanol blend has been identified in a number of various volume ratios in the current experiment. According to the results, increasing the hexanol concentration of mixed fuels led to a 7 percent increase in the brake thermal efficiency while being within acceptable limitations. In addition, since alcohol has a high latent heat, it reduces the temperature inside the cylinder, resulting in increased combustion efficiency, reduced unburned hydrocarbon emissions (20 ppm or less), and a higher NOx value of1230 ppm when the engine is operating at full capacity. According to the results of this study, a potential option for CI engines would be to replace diesel fuel with alcoholic fuel that is capable of producing more alcohol.
