Studies were undertaken to elucidate the physico-chemical properties of seed oil of jatropha hybrid genetic resources. For this purpose, 27 hybrid clones were selected and the oil was extracted by soxhlet method of oil extraction and various analyses were carried out on the oil. The results were compared with that of Indian and international biodiesel standards. Analysis carried out invloved determination of parameters viz., specific gravity, refractive index, acid value, FFA content, saponification value, iodine value and cetane number. The study thus attests the utility of Jatropha hybrids for bio-diesel production.
