Abstract

Information Technology has revolutionalised trade commerce. Its application in every part of a business activity has resulted in improved efficiency speed and accuracy. With the result, business decision making of late, has become a simple task as sifting and collating various data needed could be retrieved at the click of the mouse. With the result, the information technology is in the midst of a boom. Indian IT professionals has proved that they are technically as proficient if not better than their counterparts in developed countries and Indian IT Companies are much in demand throughout the world. Software developed in India is exported to many countries around the world. The information technology sector is also generating lots of wealth for the nation both through export as well as through stock market. This paper attempts to highlight the financial and operating performance of IT industries as a case study to provide a bird's eye view on Indian IT sector.
