Seroprevalence of brucellosis in buffalo bulls and she-buffaloes at farms was recorded as 1.6% and 10% by RBPT; 1.06% and 5.9% by STATand0.53% and 8.18% by DOT-ELISA respectively. Similar data at the abattoir was recorded as 6.5% and 22 % by RBPT; 4.5% and 4.5% by STAT and 4.5% and 15.5% by DOT-ELISA respectively. The sensitivity of RBPT was higher (100%) among abattoir buffaloes as compared to farm buffaloes (94.73%). The sensitivity of STAT was poor among both farms (63.15%) and abattoir (42.5%) buffaloes. The specificity of RBPT among farm (98.2%) and abattoir (95.27%) buffaloes was lower as compared to STAT among farm (99.22%) and abattoir (99.72%) buffaloes. The ‘kappa’ values for RBPT among farm and abattoir buffaloes were 0.802 and 0.798 respectively whereas the same for the STAT were below the set standard (0.7), i.e., 0.62 and 0.558 respectively. This explained that the RBPT agreed with DOT-ELISA to a better degree for both farm and abattoir buffaloes as compared to STAT.
