In all 31 Gir, 38GXJ and 55 GXH.F. animals were considered for the study. Observations on body weight and body measurements were taken at weekly interval for one month. By considering earlier formulae for prediction of body weight on body measurements the Shaeffer's formula was considered as base and new formula for predicting body weight in Gir and Gir crosses was established. Correlation was also studied for individual body measurements and all three together (Heart girth, Body length and Height at withers) with body weight. Correlation of body weight and body measurements were studied in case of pure Gir and Gir crosses adults and it indicated that the body measurements and body weight found to be significantly correlated in Gir and Gir crosses except height at withers in Gir and GX J. There was no significant difference found when actual body weight and calculated body weight by formula were compared.
