A research field survey was conducted with the beneficiaries of Integrated Dairy Development Project to assess the technical knowledge and adoption of improved animal husbandry practices. One hundred and fifty beneficiaries (treatment group) and 30 non-beneficiaries (control group) were selected by Stratified Random Sampling. The high level of technical knowledge and adoption of improved animal husbandry properties i.e. reproductive behaviour, care and management of milking animals, new animal husbandry techniques, dairy business management and housing management were observed in 65.33, 68, 54.67, 63.34 and61.33 per cent beneficiaries, while for non-beneficiaries, it was observed in 40, 46.67, 33.33, 43.33 and 43.33 per cent population. However, medium level of technical knowledge and adoption were observed in 23.33, 20, 24.67, 23.33, 25.33 per cent beneficiaries and 16.67 13.33, 16.67, 16.67, 20 per cent non-beneficiaries, respectively. The low level of adoption and technical knowledge were observed in 11.34, 12, 20.66, 13.33, 13.34 per cent beneficiaries and 43.33, 40, 50, 40, 36.67per cent non-beneficiaries (P <0.01). The knowledge of urea treatment of fodder was observed in 54.66 per cent beneficiaries and 33.33 per cent non-beneficiaries (P<0.05). The acquaintance of beneficiaries towards improved animal husbandry practices and their adoption level were higher in case of beneficiaries than non-beneficiaries.
