A total of 916 clinical cases of ruminal disorders in bovines at Veterinary Polyclinic, Miraj, District Sangali were reported. A total of 16 cases of diaphragmatic hernia were diagnosed separately. The study revealed a high occurrence of traumatic reticulo - peritonitis (22.27%) amongst 916 cases of ruminal disorders in bovines followed by diaphragmatic hernia (21.40%). The species – wise distribution of diaphragmatic hernia cases showed that buffaloes were more affected than cattle and the sex – wise distribution indicated that females were affected more than males. Amongst 16 clinical cases of diaphragmatic hernia recorded, all the animals were either pregnant or recently parturiated. Most of the cases (75%) were observed in adult age group and majority of cases (77.78%) were associated with presence of foreign bodies in the herniated part of reticulum.
