Abstract

Two media, RPMI 1640 and TC 199 + l-glutamine were compared for their efficacy in terms of mean mitotic drives and mitotic indices. The mean mitotic drives obtained for RPMI 1640 and TC 199 + lglutamine, respectively, were 54.3 ± 1.673 and 50.5 ± 1.299% for pig lymphocytes. The corresponding mean mitotic indices for the respective media were 4.875 ± 0.441 and 4.125 ± 0.295% for pig lymphocytes, suggesting that both the media are equally good for culturing pig lymphocytes.
