Abstract

This study was conducted on 12 healthy male horses, divided into two groups viz; group I and group II of six horses each. Xylazine Hcl @ 0.5 mg/kg and 1 mg/kg followed by propofol (3 mg/kg) was administered in group I and group II respectively. Haematological and biochemical parameters were recorded at pre induction, during and after complete recovery. Non significant difference was noted in the values of hematological and biochemical parameters and the values were remained within physiological.
