Antimicrobial drugs such as nalidixic acid, ciprofloxacin, norfloxacin, ofloxacin, amikacin, gentamicin, streptomycin, kanamycin, ampicillin, cephalexin, cephalorodine, cephalothin, tetracycline, doxycycline, oxytetracycline, trimethorpin, sulphamethoxazole etc. were used against all the isolates of Pseudomonas, Klebsiella and Proteus sp. to study the sensitivity pattern of these bacteria. All the isolates of Pseudomonas, Klebsiella and Proteus were highly resistant against b-lactam antibiotics viz. ampicillin, cephalexin, cephalothin, cephaloridine and also to tetracyclines, oxytetracyclines and doxycycline. Some isolates also showed resistance against quinolones, particularly cent percent isolates showed resistance to nalidixic acid. All the isolates were found sensitive to amikacin from the group of aminoglycides while to others, moderate to less degree of sensitivity was observed.
