The study was undertaken to evaluate anti-diarrhoeal properties of Aegle marmelos fruit aqueous extract in treatment of castor oil induced diarrhoea in rats against Lomotil as a standard drug. Reduction in frequency of passing stools and consistency of feces were the parameters considered for comparison which revealed Aegle marmelos to be efficacious in the selected model.
