Study of Physico-Hematological Changes during Propofol Anaesthesia in Equines

Abstract

Propofol (@ 6 mg/kg intravenous) was used as a general anaesthetic in 12 apparently healthy male horses for castration; in combination with xylazine hcl (@ 1 mg/kg intramuscular) and acepromazine maleate (@0.088 mg/kg intramuscular). The results indicated that Propofol had no adverse effects on the physical or hematological parameters in equines.
