The study was undertaken to evaluate anti-diarrhoeal properties of Ocimum sanctum seeds aqueous extract in treatment of castor oil induced diarrhoea in rats against Lamotil as a standard drug. Reduction in frequency of passing stools and consistency of feces were the parameters considered for comparison which revealed Ocimum sanctum to be efficacious in rats.
