Profile of Rural Women Entrepreneurs: An analysis

Abstract

Development of women as entrepreneurs is a recently discovered phenomenon with self-motivation, family support and training. The study was undertaken with an objective to study the profile of rural women entrepreneurs to identify the personality traits that support entrepreneur ship. It was conducted in the rural areas of Rajasthan with 60 rural women, of whom half were engaged in entrepreneurial activity and half were not. Simple questionnaire was used to collect data from women on their personal and entrepreneurial dimensions of their profile. It was found that the personal dimension of entrepreneurial women was better than non-entrepreneurial women whereas entrepreneurial dimension of both the categories was ‘poor’.
