Change in living pattern and lifestyle poses increased requirement for fresh as well as value added form of flowers especially in urban areas which makes floriculture as a sun raise industry in India. Due to highly perishable nature and high level of wastage of flowers and flower products, value addition and processing offers good opportunities to avoid post-harvest losses. But, the share of value addition and post-harvest processing in floriculture sector is remarkably low. Present study conducted in Faridabad district of Haryana state to delineate the restraining factors to undergo the post-harvest management and value addition at flower cultivator level showed that marketing and infrastructure related inhibitors were the most severe restraining element. Results also indicated the need of regulated flower markets, infrastructure to preserve flowers and human resource development in the area of processing and value addition to increase the livelihood security of flower growers.
