On-Farm demonstrations were conducted on rabi pulses with improved technologies against farmer's practices during 20011-12 to 2014–15 at 56 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Full package of practices was demonstrated. The demonstrations were conducted on rabi pulses namely field pea in 201.4ha area (953 demonstration) and on 453.5 ha area (1950 demonstration) for chickpea. The results showed that improved techniques increased yield over farmer's practice by significant margins of 25% to 40% in case of field pea. However, in chickpea 11.78% to 47.82% range of yield advantages were noticed. Yield advantage under different improved techniques namely ICM, IPM, IDM, INM, RCT and varietal in absolute terms (q/ha) ranged between 3.97 q/ha to 6.27 q/ha over local check which was realized by the farmers. In chickpea the yield increased was ranged between 9.97 q/ha to 16.38 q/ha across the different thematic areas of demonstration. Finding revealed that wide technology gap, which need to bridge by promoting the scientific production and protection technologies in varied condition of both partially irrigated of Uttar Pradesh state and rainfed conditions.
