The study was undertaken to evaluate the knowledge level of farmwomen and rural youth towards KVK training programmes on post harvest technology. Keeping in view of benefits of post harvest technology, KVK Ghazipur has conducted 18 training programmes on post harvest management for 500 farm women and rural youth during 2015 to 2017. A sample of 375 out of 500 farmwomen and rural youth were selected among the trainees. It was found that the large proportion of farmwomen were middle aged (26–35), belonging to medium socio-economic status and had medium state of modernization. Sufficient gain in knowledge regarding post harvest technology was recorded for sub component viz. post harvest technology and preservation technique, preservative, post harvest machinery equipment, selection of raw material and packaging knowledge. The study revealed that KVK trainings were effective and significantly increased knowledge level of trainees from 13.33 to 86.66 per cent. Most of the trainees gained knowledge, i.e. 86.66 per cent about preservatives, 81.33 per cent about post harvest equipments, 80 per cent about packaging, 78.66 per cent about post harvest technology and preservation technique and 64% about selection of raw materials after the training programmes.
